Cindy Shadel, MFT

Cindy Shadel, Addiction and Family Counselor

Cindy Shadel received her BA from Oklahoma City University, Oklahoma City and her MA in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University in Malibu.  Cindy works with partners of addicts and couples at CHS. Ms. Shadel facilitates the weekly Rebuilding Lives process group for partners. The Rebuilding Lives group provides a safe space for clients to share and heal the betrayal they have experienced as a result of being in a relationship with a sex addict. Oftentimes partners of sex addicts feel alone and isolated. By participating in the partner’s group, they can obtain the support that they need in order to be able to move on from the devastation and renew their lives and relationships. Cindy also provides individual and couple therapy which focuses on providing immediate cognitive-behavioral tools to help clients manage the early stages of recovery.  As early recovery tasks become established, understanding the origin of co-addictive behaviors through early childhood work follows.  Cindy’s experience also includes working with children and adults suffering from addiction, domestic violence and mental illness at Richstone Family Center in Hawthorne, CA.  Richstone provided her with an understanding of and passion for working with the entire family system.  Cindy is a member of the California Association for Marriage and Family Therapists in San Diego, CA. (CAMFT) of San Diego. and WAAT (Women’s Association for Addiction Treatment) in Westwood, CA. MFC 52079.
