
Dr. Hernando Chaves is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and practices sex therapy at CHS. He has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California at Santa Barbara, a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego, and a Doctor of Human Sexuality degree from the Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in San Francisco. Dr. Chaves has experience and clinical expertise working with individuals, couples, and families of erotic minorities, unique sexual identities and orientations, and clients with sex therapy concerns. He is on the board of directors for The Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality (SSSS) and 2013 SSSS Western Region President. Dr. Chaves also serves as a human sexuality and psychology professor at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA. He is formerly a faculty member of Los Angeles Valley College in Sherman Oaks, CA and Fullerton College in Fullerton, CA. Dr. Chaves is a keynote speaker at Catalystcon in 2013 and has lectured at California State University in Long Beach, CA. and for Los Angeles Sexologists Association in Beverly Hills, CA. He is the resident sexologist at Askmen.com, writing weekly sex Q&A and sexuality articles as well as a 2013 Erotikos Film Festival judge at Hedonism II in Jamaica.
