Dr. Miles Reid will present the energetic view of sex, integrating science, Eastern thought and shamanistic perspectives, in an informal discussion that is intended to educate and stir creative thinking on how we perceive ourselves as sexual beings in the world today. We will focus on how can we add to our inner experience a secondary function of sexual energy as an evolutionary force. How can men and women use sexual energy to make the jump in consciousness that is needed today, a re-interpretation of the roles of women and men in society that can prepare us, as co-leaders, to enter deep into the 21st century.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe how sexual energy affects the brain and body from a Shamanistic perspective.
- Explain 2 breath and movement practices for directing and increasing sexual energy within the body.
- Identify specific foods that increase and specific foods that decrease sexual energy or libido.
about Miles
Dr. Miles Reid is an integrative medicine practitioner and mind-body educator that practices Traditional Chinese Medicine, Functional Medicine, and is also dedicated to the modern application of shamanistic principles.
Miles Reid was born into a family of physicians. Working as a resident after earning his Medical Doctor degree summa cum laude, he became interested in complimentary healing practices, and in understanding the inner workings of the human body and spirit.
Dr. Reid returned to his native USA to further his medical education, personally studying shamanism under the tutelage of renowned Carlos Castaneda and earning a Masters with highest honors at Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Dr. Reid is co-founder of Being Energy® and the Energy Life Sciences Institute in Los Angeles. He is the clinical director at the Institute and travels internationally to see patients and teach workshops for Being Energy that incorporate movement practices, guided visualizations and creative thinking.
