Interactive webinar with Heather Jeffcoat, DPT on Female Sexual Dysfunction and Pain Disorders
Sexual dysfunction affects an estimated 43% of women at some point in their lifespan. After childbirth, this number jumps to 89% in the immediate postpartum period and persists in 40% of women at 18 months postpartum. Pelvic floor physical therapy is an important part of the recovery process and should be incorporated whenever sexual dysfunction is present to: address musculoskeletal dysfunction and biomechanical influences, educate the patient on their pain, and help facilitate additional care as needed. The role of dilators will be discussed.
Heather Jeffcoat, DPT is the author of Sex Without Pain: A Self-Treatment Guide To The Sex Life You Deserve and a recognized expert in the field of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy.
