This lecture is designed to help therapists and helping professionals explore the way they deal with the intricacies of sexual and gender identity, as well as alternative relationship practices and how to talk with clients about sex.
Learning objectives:
- Understand various sexual identities and learn “the gender unicorn”
- Introduce concepts of Cass Model of Identity Formation
- Learn about alternatives to monogamy as relationship paradigms
Jamye Waxman, MA, M.Ed, is a Clinical Associate who specializes in working with individuals and couples on issues that pertain to sex therapy, sexual dysfunction, gender, and romantic relationships. Jamye has in-depth training in human sexuality education. She graduated with her M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University and with her M.Ed. in Human Sexuality Education from Widener University in Pennsylvania. She is currently finishing up her Ph.D. in Human Sexuality Education from Widener University. Jamye is a published author of books on sexuality and relationships. In addition, she has completed the San Francisco Sex Information Training, the Urban Tantra Teacher’s Training and is a current member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
