The “Mindfulness and the Treatment of Addictive Disorders” webinar discusses the efficacy of applying mindfulness-based therapy with clients seeking treatment for addiction and trauma recovery. Therapist Darrin Ford, founder of “The Mindfulness Academy for Addiction and Trauma Training”, presents information and research that supports greater outcomes for long term recovery when mindfulness-based tools are part of the treatment plan. Mr. Ford draws on research in the areas of neuroplasticity, meditation, improving distress tolerance, and how to increase intimacy with self and others.

About Darrin

Darrin Ford, LMFT, CSAT-Sis a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Supervisor, a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist Supervisor, a Certified Mindfulness Based Addiction Truama Therapist Supervisor, a Gottman trained couples therapist, and is EMDR trained. As founder of Mindful Centers, he has integrated mindfulness into the treatment of those struggling with addiction and trauma. He has also worked mentoring therapists in the utilization of mindfulness and the development of their private practice.

In addition Darrin is a nationally recognized speaker and internationally published author. His books include,”Awakening from the Sexually Addicted Mind,” co-author to “Transforming the Addictive Mind,” and co-author to “The Recovery Coach Client Handbook”.
