
Rachelle Surmani, MA
Rachelle Surmani is a Primary Therapist at Center for Healthy Sex. She has worked in a variety of therapeutic environments including intensive outpatient programs, inpatient settings, residential treatment facilities, and private practice. Rachelle takes a trauma-informed approach to treating addictive and compulsive behaviors, relational conflicts, depression, anxiety, ADHD, complex PTSD, personality and mood disorders, suicidal ideation, and gender identity and expression. She is LGBTQIA+ affirming and passionate about helping individuals and couples understand the underlying issues that impact their sexual intimacy.
Rachelle uses metaphors and analogies to help individuals and couples shift their perspective so that they can have a better understanding of how to navigate the obstacles that prevent them from moving forward. By creating a safe space without fear of judgment or shame, she can help people explore their thoughts and behaviors in a way that facilitates healing and growth, while restoring trust in themselves. Rachelle earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, specializing in Psychological Trauma from Antioch University and a Bachelor of Arts in Critical Gender Studies with an emphasis in Sexualities from University of California, San Diego.
